Lloyds Money for Life Programme |
Money for Life is a financial capability and personal money skills programme, designed to embed vital money management skills training in the Further Education (FE) sector.
The programme is a unique partnership over the next two years between the National Skills Academy Financial Services, Lloyds Banking Group, the Consumer Financial Education Body (CFEB) and FE sector partners in the four nations of the UK; Scotland’s colleges, Colleges Wales, National Training Federation for Wales and Educational Guidance Service for Adults in Northern Ireland. Together, we will work together to promote and support financial capability training across the UK.
Money for Life will enable FE practitioners to gain an accredited qualification in personal money management via an online curriculum resource. In turn, those practitioners will raise awareness of the importance of money management skills amongst FE students.
Through up-skilling the sector, the Money for Life programme wants to create a generation of learners better able to manage their money, reduce their debt and access or remain in FE. The aims of the Money for Life programme are to:
Lloyds Banking Group is also exploring how their 100,000 employees can add value to Money for Life and is working with Toynbee Hall to develop a tailored programme to train Lloyds Banking Group employees to deliver financial capability workshops
Money for Life will identify and address barriers to financial capability learning via a series of focus groups across the UK. The focus groups will examine the financial capability needs of distinct learner groups such as those with learning difficulties, young parents and apprentices. We will develop tailored solutions to address those needs, the output of which will be made available to learning practitioners and shared more broadly with FE and political stakeholders.
