In December 2008, the National Skills Academy for Financial Services (NSAFS) was awarded one of five, year-long prestigious knowledge transfer projects by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).
The Pathfinder Knowledge Transfer project came to an end in March 2010 with several successful outcomes. The Pathfinder project’s objective was to support and provide innovative solutions for further education colleges to provide a better level of service to employers, particularly small and medium sized employers, and to help them innovate and develop their business.
As part of the project we created Link, our knowledge portal, which hosts learning resources, industry information and more on key issues in the financial services sector and sub-sectors.
The other part of the Pathfinder project created the Navigator Approach prototype. Working with further education colleges within our training provider network, the NSAFS developed a specialised four step approach called Navigator. This includes a structured face to face fact-find with employers encompassing the Navigator Discovery Tool, which can now be accessed through Link as an online diagnostic tool.
